Looking for a fresh, healthy breakfast idea this winter? We've got just the thing!
Georgie from our Marketing Team has shared one of her all-time favourites for when she wants a break from her usual yogurt and granola bowl.
Choc porridge with homemade berry compote, yoghurt, fresh berries and Rollagranola - super nourishing and satiating!
INGREDIENTS
Porridge
- 40g porridge oats
- 1 cup of milk of choice
- Heaped tsp cacao
- Heaped tsp ground flax
Berry compote
- 2 cups frozen berries
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (or to taste)
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp Chia seeds (optional)
Topping ideas
- Rollagranola
- Yoghurt
- Nut butter
- Berry compote
- Fresh berries
Instructions for the compote:
Add the berries, maple syrup, lemon juice and a splash of water to a saucepan over medium heat.
Cook gently, stirring occasionally, until the berries begin to break down and the mixture thickens and starts to resemble jam. Stir in the chia seeds if using and set aside to cool before popping in an airtight container and storing in the fridge. This is delicious served warm or cold on top of yoghurt, porridge, pancakes or overnight oats!
Serve warm or cold over your porridge with fresh fruit, a dollop of yoghurt and a generous sprinkling of Rollagranola for that perfect crunch!
Porridge:
Heat the oats on the hob with milk until soft and creamy. You could use half water/ half milk if preferred. Stir in the flax and cacao.
Top with a dollop of yoghurt, your favourite Rollagranola, fresh berries, the berry compote, finishing off with a little honey/ maple (optional).
