World Heart Day 2026: What's Good for Your Heart?

World Heart Day 2026: What's Good for Your Heart?

This year's theme is Don't Miss a Beat, because heart disease can hide in plain sight. Here are Five things you should not miss.

Swap the fats. Replacing saturated fat with unsaturated fat can help lower non-HDL and LDL cholesterol level.

Eat the nuts. A small handful, about 30g, makes a good swap for biscuits, chocolate, or other unhealthy snacks which are usually higher in saturated fat. Switch to healthier snack options so you don’t miss a beat for this reason.

Get the fibre in. The recommendation is 30g a day. A 40g serving of oats gets you around 3g. Make sure to add green leafy vegetables and fruits into your other meals.
Move for 20 minutes. That's the World Heart Federation's Keep the Beat challenge this month. Walking counts.

Read the label. Plenty hides in plain sight there too. Supermarket Granola can look like a good choice while carrying refined sugar, artificially processed ingredients and palm oil.

So, turn the pack over before you buy. If you anything you don't recognise, put it back.
That's the whole reason Rollagranola has never had any of it. Just oats, nuts and seeds, fruits, healthy oils and never refined sugar.

Happy World Heart Day, and here's to a good few more beats.
