Early July provides us with the Wimbledon tennis championships which are always associated with strawberries and cream. The humble British strawberry is at the height of its season while the tournament is on and a mouth watering 27 tons, almost 200,000 portions, of this favourite juicy red fruit are consumed by spectators at SW19 each year.
Strawberries are incredibly good for us as they are full of vitamins, fibre and contain particularly high levels of antioxidants. As a fat-free, cholesterol free and low calorie food, what’s not to love about this sweet and flavoursome summer fruit?
Fresh strawberries are fabulous on their own, but even better when combined with our Matcha Caveman Granola to make an unbelievably tasty smoothie bowl. And that is exactly what our friend Diana has shared on her Instagram page (@on.and.oats). She combines strawberries with mango and cherries as well as the Matcha Caveman Granola, which contains a trio of nuts in addition to apple, dates and coconut, for a sensational smoothie serving. Game, set and match as far as we are concerned.
This year, July is also providing soccer fans with a feast of football at the Euros. If you find yourself running out of steam in the second half, or during extra time, an offering from the Rollasnax range can provide you with the perfect energy boost.
Take the Salt & Pepper Wild Trail Mix, for example. It contains sweet potato, pink salt, black pepper and a quartet of nuts up front that are bound to score. With Berry & Coconut and Sweet & Salty Wild Trail mixes also available, you may have a selection dilemma, however. Fortunately, a Rollasnax Variety Pack, which contains four bags of each mix, is available to keep everyone happy.
Whatever you are doing this July, remember to keep an eye on our social media channels for more creative ways to eat our hand crafted granola.
